Structural Engineer Job Description
Opening for Maryland or Florida office.
Frequent travel between offices and job sites expected.
Job Summary
Work closely with Professional Engineer and Project Managers to design and draft temporary shoring systems to be used on construction project sites.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with designing and inspecting temporary support systems
- Perform CAD drafting
- Assist in Structural Estimating
- Travel to project sites
- Communicate with field and Project Managers
- Able to travel locally and between office locations (Maryland/Florida)
- Coordinate with Professional Engineer
- Able and willing to continue education and professional development
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision at times
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Structural analysis software experience required (ex: Staad Pro, StruCalc, VersaFrame)
- CAD/CADD drafting skills required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, emphasis on Structural
- Registration as an active Professional Engineer in either Maryland or Florida required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Structural Engineer with knowledge of commercial construction required
- BIM Modeling a plus
